It’s so easy to visit Salt Spring Island nestled between Vancouver Island and the BC Coast in Canada’s Gulf Islands. Salt Spring has so much to share all year long from music to arts, farm to table bounty, ocean adventures, and connection to nature and wellness retreats. An exciting and informative tourism marketing video has been developed by Salt Spring Tourism utilizing Community Tourism Opportunities (CTO) funding. The objective was to use video footage that was provided by a local resident to paint a picture of life on Salt Spring and create a compelling and experiential reason to visit. Modeled after the Canadian Travel Commissions’ “35 Million Directors” video (www.35milliondirectors.com), Salt Spring showcased the following aspects of their tourism offerings: agriculture, arts and culture, outdoor adventure, music and live entertainment, eco-tourism, shopping and services, festivals and events, health and wellness and culinary adventures.
The video will be posted on YouTube and Facebook and will be distributed widely through social media. Thumb drives will also be available with unique “made on Salt Spring” packaging which will ensure a fantastic impression is made when distributed and the use of our branding message will be used throughout. The video will be made available to key tourism stakeholders as well as distributed through the Chamber of Commerce and at tourism related events.
