Tourism Vancouver Island’s wins emerging media award


For Immediate Release: For their work with Tourism Vancouver Island, Eclipse Creative is an Innovator Award winner in the 2016 Summit Emerging Media Award (Summit EMA) competition. Eclipse Creative’s recent work on Tourism Vancouver Island’s website,, was recognized amongst the top companies in the Emerging Media Award competition as the winner in the Innovator Award Category: Website Redesign (before/after).

The campaign website was designed with the concept that plays off the notion that everyone longs to be ‘in their element’, and evokes a feeling of adventure and promotes engagement through the use of a multi-step contest. The website launched in April 2016 and encourages visitors to explore all of the elements of travel that Vancouver Island has to offer and add those that interest them to their travel formula. The idea behind this concept, developed by Eclipse Creative in Victoria, is to draw strong parallels to nature and to highlight the immense number of travel opportunities in the Vancouver Island region.

“We have been thrilled by the great work that the Eclipse team has done with our Find Your Element campaign and we’re even more excited that it’s now been recognized internationally,” says Dave Petryk, President and CEO of Tourism Vancouver Island. “This is a bold new campaign for Tourism Vancouver Island and the website that Eclipse developed reflects that change in direction perfectly.”

The Find Your Element concept spanned all of Tourism Vancouver Island’s marketing tactics for the year, including their print publication, which will be released in late January. This is the first time the organization has worked with a creative agency to develop a multi-functional campaign concept that presents a singular message to consumers across all platforms.

The Summit Emerging Media Award (Summit EMA), began in 2007 and evolved through a need to recognize and celebrate creativity, innovation and those pushing the bounds of creative excellence in all forms of emerging media. Summit EMA is open to both individuals and companies of all sizes. The Summit International Awards (SIA) organization is dedicated to furthering creative excellence in the communications industry. It administers three distinguished award competitions throughout the year with the goal of raising the awareness of companies and individuals who have the creative and marketing talent to go beyond the ordinary.
