“Kick Back and Coast” was a 6-week road trip that included 8 teams taking a week or so each to market Ucluelet one-on-one from Newfoundland back to British Columbia. The RV, with its fantastic images was well-received and created conversation wherever it went. Tourism Ucluelet used Community Tourism Opportunities funding to wrap the RV. Tourism Ucluelet ran a contest for an all expense paid trip to Ucluelet for a family of 4 throughout the trip. The call to action was taking a picture of the RV in various locations and submitting it with your name and contact information online. This also allowed Tourism Ucluelet to increase it’s email list for continuous messaging and engage in a social media blitz directing additional traffic to facebook and twitter. Through this Tourism Ucluelet was able to leverage contacts for their future marketing endeavors. Traffic on their facebook page went from 300 “likes” to over 2000 with a 40% increase in engagement.
